Photographing People

Photographing people is about capturing their personality, emotions, and unique expressions through the camera. It requires both technical skill and the ability to create a relaxed and natural atmosphere.

To succeed in photographing people with a mobile phone:

  • Use portrait mode to create a blurred background and highlight the person.
  • Select a telephoto lens if your mobile has one, as it provides more natural portraits and better background blur.
  • Photograph at eye level to create presence and natural proportions.
  • Avoid having the person face strong sunlight to prevent harsh shadows on the face.
  • Tap on the screen to manually focus on the face.
  • Take many pictures and select the best ones afterward.
  • Hold the phone steady, preferably with both hands or using a tripod for sharper images.

Recommended accessories:

  • Phone tripod for stable and sharp images, especially in low light.
  • Microfiber cloth to keep the lens clean and avoid blurry images.
  • External telephoto lens (clip-on) if your phone lacks a built-in telephoto camera, for better portraits.
  • Extra lighting (e.g., ring light) for indoor photography or in low-light conditions.
